Cornerstone began with a vision to sow seeds for God’s kingdom by serving and enriching society. This was a big and bold vision, belief, and a commitment to expand our bounty to reach the world community by investing our own communities. Wayne Perry has always been passionate about supporting the economic and social vitality of our clients, our employees, and our communities. The Company first started by volunteer services to churches and non-profit organizations. Our portfolio soon expanded to include Top Fortune 500 companies and technology industry leaders. We quickly earned a reputation as a trusted advisor to our clients by excelling in our ability to manage the design and construction development of major production and manufacturing facilities. We proved to our clients that we could be counted on to help them meet the deadlines necessary to successfully execute their product launches. Today we are an industry leader for major commercial infrastructure projects throughout the United States and worldwide.

It has always been Wayne’s vision that “everywhere that Cornerstone has presence, there will be a Cornerstone Institute.” Established in 1986 along with the founding of Cornerstone, the Institute began with simple mentoring and teaching workshops held in Cornerstone’s conference room every Saturday with mostly at-risk high school kids. Wayne devised a specialized belt system program based on guiding principle of Budo, the Way of the Warrior. The program imparts knowledge and industry skills that anoint graduates with the ability to transcend beyond perceived barriers gives them a more opportunistic perspective and expands their world view. Engraining in his students the idea that each of us is on this earth to serve our unique calling, hundreds of the students have graduated from Institute and have found their calling. Wayne remembers one young man, one of his first students, who came from incarceration and went through the Cornerstone Institute and thrived, a reward for his accomplishments he was invited to work for Cornerstone and to travel to Hong Kong. This is just one story of transcendence of many.

Wayne takes the same care with his own employees who he considers family. Growing up in Richmond, California he didn’t have anyone to mentor him either professionally or personally, so he vowed to create a way to help his employees have a quicker path to success than he had.  He formed an innovative initiative in the Company called “The Cornerstone Village.” In the Village, employees come together on a regular basis to form five distinct communities ranging from humanitarianism to financial literacy to entrepreneurship. He says, “When we have an enterprise and an opportunity to bring people together, we should bring them together, we should share knowledge with them and help them to grow in any way that we can.” Through the Cornerstone Village we go beyond the workday to a place where we learn from each other and take away life changing knowledge that will help to build wealth, health, and prosperity.
